Paper Submission Regulations

Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of these regulations is to define appropriate processes and measures to submit a paper to the Journal of the Optical Society of Korea (hereinafter, JOSK) published by The Optical Society of Korea (hereinafter, OSK)

Article 2 (The content of paper and publication decision) The content of JOSK covers all the research areas in optics, and submitted paper should be original, which has been neither published nor submitted in other journals. JOSK editorial board will decide originality of the submitted papers.

Article 3 (Chategories of paper)
¨ç Paper are categorized into research papers, short notes, invited paper and review papers
¨è Invited papers and review papers will be recommended by the JOSK editorial board and will be solicited by the editor-in-chief. Qualified authors can consult the editor-in-chief, and paper request decision is made by the JOSK editorial board meeting.

Article 4 (Forms and types)
¨ç Paper should be created in Micro Soft Word format.
¨è Paper should be written in English.
¨é The paper should written the following order: title, authors¡¯ names, affiliations, address, abstract, keywords, OCIS codes, main text, appendix, acknowledgment, references, table captions, tables, figures (photographs) captions, figures (photographs).
¨ê 5 or less keywords can be chosen.
¨ë 5 or less OCIS code can be chosen.

Article 5 (Reference formats) References should be confirmed objectively. The references are cited in the format of [1,2], or [3-6] in the main text, and they should be summarized in the end of main text as below.

Article 6 (Figures and Tables)
¨ç Figures and tables should be located in the text along with the serial numbers.
¨è The maximum width of the figure is 85 mm. A larger figure is to be reduced to this size and the size of fonts and symbols should be arranged accordingly.
¨é Default photographs are in black and white with the same size limit as figures. In the case of color photographs, the author must incur additional expenses.
¨ê If the figures and photos in the paper are under protection of copyright of a third party, the author should obtain the written permission of the owner, which should be properly mentioned in the text.

Article 7 (Equations and Units)
¨ç Equations can be created using the Equation Editor of Micro Soft Word.
¨è In the equation, hand writing is prohibited
¨é Units and its denotation are made in accordance with international practices.

Article 8 (Author list and Affiliation) ¨ç he authors are listed in order of decreasing contribution.
¨è If the authors have more than one affiliation, numbers are added in superscript in the upper right corner of the authors¡¯ names and the corresponding numbers are added in superscript in the upper left corner of the affiliations.
¨é The corresponding author is denoted by the superscript"*", and the e-mail address is provided.

Article 9 Paper (Method of Submission) Paper is electronically submitted through OSK website.

Article 10 (Paper Review) Submitted paper undergoes due review process according to the review regulations of OSK.

Article 11 (Paper Proof)
¨ç First proof of the paper should by done by the authors.
¨è At the stage of galley proof, the authors cannot make changes in their papers. The authors should obtain the approval of the JOSK editorial board if there are to be any changes.

Article 12 (Copyright) The corresponding author should transfer the copyright by filling in the specified form to OSK.

Supplementary Provisions (1999. 4. 30)
      This provision will be enacted as from 1 May 1999.

Supplementary Provisions (2003. 3. 28)
      The provision will be enacted as from March 28, 2003.

Supplementary Provisions (2005. 10. 28)
      The provision will be enacted as from October 28, 2005.

Supplementary Provisions (2007. 2. 23)
      The amended provision will be enacted as from February 23, 2007.

Supplementary Provisions (2009. 2. 12)
      The amended provision will be enacted as from February 12, 2009.

Supplementary Provisions (2011. 12. 22)
      The amended provision will be enacted as from December 22, 2011.
